General Safety FAQs

Do USBCELLs become warm while charging?
Yes, this normal.
Are there any products that should not be used with USBCELLs?
USBCELLs, like other NiMH rechargeable batteries, should not be used in critical safety devices, medical devices or Smoke/Fire detectors. NiMH cells are also 1.2v vs 1.5v in Alkaline cells, so should not be used in devices that require 1.5v cells only.
Are there any unusual safety requirements?
The USB charging functionality itself shouldn’t require any unusual safety precautions. If used properly, USBCELLs should behave generally like other rechargeable NiMH batteries. As with all NiMH rechargeable batteries, care should be taken to use and dispose of them properly; and to avoid any situations likely to cause a hazard. Safety information is provided on the USBCELL packet, and in the Safety section in the User Guide.
